Play On! offers high quality collaborative performing arts programming to school-age children. Play On! aims to encourage and inspire students to find their own voice and teaches tools to communicate that voice. Play On! believes that theatre, film, music, and dance can be created anywhere with the resources available. Play On! seeks to develop a  lifelong love of the arts and artists who want to and can create wherever they are. Play On! believes that the arts are for everyone. The curriculum is designed to build skills in an age appropriate and fun manner. We believe that theatre, film, music, and dance can be created anywhere with the resources available. Students can begin while in pre-school and participate through eighth grade.  There are numerous benefits a student receives when they participate in Play On! classes including confidence building skills, critical thinking, perseverance, positive body image and self-discipline.

Enrichment Classes and Summer Camps

   
Audition Techniques (3rd grade-adult)

Learn to craft an audition and prepare monologues, cold readings, and hone improvisation skills.


Dance (K-8th grade)
This fusion class offers a variety of styles including  jazz, modern, and hip-hop, all while utilizing creative dance concepts. Genre specific classes are available.


Drama (K-8th grade)
Inspired by a theme, students create and rehearse a play.  Older students use scripted material when indicated.  Backdrops are created and
costumes are provided. Class culminates in a performance for family and friends.


Film (Screen Play On!) (K-adult)
Students film original movies, learning about the filmmaking process. 

Stop-motion animation is available if schools have tablets or laptops available for use. 


Improv (What's my Line?!) (K-adult) Students learn to expect the unexpected while learning improvisation techniques and creating their own sketch comedy performance.


Musical Theatre (K-adult)
Students learn to apply their acting skills to characters through songs and choreography.


Newsies (3rd-8th grade)
Students learn about the dying art of the printed word and create a community newspaper start to finish.


Newsies Broadcast: (3rd-8th grade)
Students write and produce their own news program, filmed and edited professionally. 


Reality T.V.  (4th-8th grade)
Students create an original play from their perspective of what's going on in the world.  Choose from a theatrical or film version of this class.


Shakespeare (3rd-8th grade)

Get acquainted with the Bard and learn why his plays have been produced for over 400 years.  Class can be customized to study sonnets, scenes, monolgues, or tackle one his plays.


Triple Treat (ages 3-6 years)
Promotes creative play through drama, music and dance, and provides an introduction to other Play On! classes. Summer camp is for ages 4-9 years.


School Residencies and Electives
Play On! will come to your school for a number of weeks to teach drama or dance skills and produce a performance as part of your school's daily curriculum. 

       
Private Classes and Events

Infant & Toddler Music & Movement: Bring Play On! to your play group. Grownups and little ones play together, learning motor skills through music and movement.


Audition & Interview Coaching: Are you or your child interested in auditioning for Denver School of the Arts, college, or community theatre?  Maybe you want to become a better public speaker or nail that next interview. We will work one on one with you to reach your goals.

Parties & Events: Play On! will bring a customized workshop to you for your special event. Options include drama and dance birthday parties, in addition to corporate improvisation workshops.
