Owner Rachel Greengard Galt has loved the performing arts since childhood when she began performing Shel Silverstein poems for family and friends.  Rachel grew up attending drama classes and camps, participating in her high school program and completing a BFA in Theatre Performance from Chapman University in Orange, California. During that time she also interned for the casting directors of the acclaimed television show, “Gilmore Girls”.  Rachel has worked as an actress in Denver and California and uses that experience as a basis for her directing and instructive work.  Rachel began teaching drama while assisting in a classroom as a teenager, where she wrote and directed a play.  Her professional career began in Boulder, CO where she worked with Boulder’s EXPAND program, creating a curriculum and teaching drama to mentally and physically challenged adults.  Rachel’s extensive work as a gymnastics coach provides another facet of experience which she uses to emphasize both individual and ensemble work.  Rachel's expertise in curriculum design led to her creation of the Play On! methods; all age appropriate and designed for the students to be empowered and learn tools and skills to create art on their own.  Rachel is a former Music Together® instructor and has taught music and tumbling classes for Shalom Family.  Rachel has taught classes and created curricula at Temple Beth Sholom in Santa Ana, CA, the Aurora Fox Arts Center, the Mizel Center, Montessori Peaks Academy, Vocal Motion, the Odyssey School, the Rocky Mountain School of Expeditionary Learning (RMSEL), Cory Elementary, Compass Montessori and several other schools.  She currently teaches for many of these as listed in current programs. Maureen "Mo"  Sherlock comes to Executive Arts with a wealth of Dance experience dating back to 1988.  She has studied ballet, rhythmic gymnastics, and hip hop.  During high school, Maureen was Captain of her Color Guard squad.  She was the Dance Team Captain during her time at Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado, where she obtained a BA in Business Administration, emphasizing management.  She is also pursuing certification for Zumba®, a poplar Latin dance aerobics class for adults.  Maureen is passionate about dance and loves working with students and sharing her dance talent to inspire them.

Jenn Armbruster is the Director of Public Relations for Play On! and Executive Arts as well as the Newsies instructor.  Jenn has over five years of communications and public relations experience and holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Technical Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations from Colorado State University.  Jenn has worked in the non-profit sector on a national level, including event planning and marketing.  Currently, she is helping to bring the Play On! studio dream to a reality.  Jenn was the editor-in-chief of her high school newspaper and relishes in the creative process of the dying art of newspaper, which she is hoping to revitalize Play On! style.  She is excited to bring her passion for the news to students! 

Philosophy

Play On! offers high quality collaborative performing arts programming to school-age children.  Play On! aims to encourage and inspire students to find their own voice and teaches tools to communicate that voice.  Play On! believes that theatre, music and dance can be created anywhere with the resources available. Play On! seeks to develop a  lifelong love of the arts and artists who want to and can create wherever they are.  Play On! believes that the arts are for everyone.

Hiring Instructors

I am pleased to annouce that I am expanding Play On! and hiring wonderful instructors.  I have learned that the instructor makes or breaks a class and is integral to the success of a program.  I am excited to bring Briana Phillips on board for Play On! Dance and Maureen "Mo" Sherlock will teach Play On! Dance at Compass, a brand new class! Briana and Mo are a passionate dancers and I know your children will learn from their tremendous skill and warm energy. Additonally, Play On! is presenting Newsies! a class to create and protect the dying art of the newspaper.  Jenn Armbruster is the instructor with a depth of knowledge in Journalism.  Save the newspaper and bring Newsies! to your school today! All instructors undergo an approval process  in order to provide your children with safe instruction.


New Play On! Instructors!

Briana Phillips comes to Executive Arts with over 20 years of dance experience!  She is a passionate dancer and is excited to share that passion with young artists.  Briana is well versed in ballet, tap, hip hop and her favorite, jazz dance.  Additionally Briana was a gymnast and a cheerleader, serving as Captain of the Varsity squad.  Briana holds a B.S. in Business administration and Organizational Management from Colorado State University.  While attending CSU she choreographed and danced in the “Studio Night” events.  Briana has been active with community youth through Big Brothers and Big Sister, the Ronald McDonald House local schools. She is a welcome addition to Executive Arts’ Play On! Dance program.
